Full description
Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.

Jenkinson, T., 2001 - 2006, Exeter to Barnstaple A377 (Report - Survey). SDV344456.
Visited on 26th August 2005. Milestone about 30 metres north-west of Smallmarsh, on verge against iron railings, very close to road edge on west side (seen from car). Legend "9/Barum/". Light faced granite, quite good condition but with some minor chipping to edges, circa 1879. At risk of vibration but less so since A361 was built.

Milestone. Probably early to mid 19th century. Granite, with segmental top. Inscribed : "9/BARUM". This milestone is one of a series on the Exeter/Barnstaple road, and stands on a bridge over a small stream.
