An oval depression is visible as an earthwork.

An oval depression circa 18 metres by 14 metres is visible on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2013. The depression is situated in a south-east facing field south-west of Cardwell. It is interpreted as an extractive pit of post-medieval origin.
The depression does not correspond with any features depicted on the available historic maps. The earthwork is faintly visible on aerial photographs dating from the 1940s and from 2001 onwards.
The depression is interpreted as an extractive pit of post-medieval to early 20th century origin.
The earthwork had been previously transcribed as part of the Tamar Valley NMP and has been re-transcribed based on recent lidar data as part of the Tamar/Lidar project.
