Full description

Heard, H., 2006, Water Sewage Treatment Infrastructure Near Exeter Airport, East Devon: Gradiometry Survey, 10 (Report - Geophysical Survey). SDV344441.

A positive linear anomaly can be seen across the south of the survey area in an east to west orientation (i). This may represent a cut feature of archaeological or agricultural origin. Other details: Figures 33-37 (i).

A ditch aligned west-south-west to east-north-east was revealed in trenches 2 and 3. It measured 0.9 metres wide and was 0.25-0.38 metres deep, with steep to moderately sloping sides and a flat base. No dateable finds were recovered, however the orientation of the ditch parallel with Mill Lane may suggest that it formed part of the post-medieval field system.
