Summary
Farmstead dates to at least the early-mid 19th century, based on cartographic evidence, but may be older. Depicted on the Tithe Map, the main farm has retained its general layout since the later 19th century, but is bordered on the northern side with modern buildings.

Full description
South West Heritage Trust, 1838-1848, Digitised Tithe Maps and Transcribed Apportionments (Cartographic). SDV359954.
Hooperton is shown on the Cheriton Bishop Tithe Map as a simple homestead consisting of two buildings at the north-eastern and south-western sides of a yard.

The late 19th century historic map shows the farm has expanded a little, with at least two new buildings added to the yard, including a circular addition to the building adjacent to the lane; possible engine house?
