Summary

Wallon is located in the hilly countryside on the north-east fringes of Dartmoor. The house and farm buildings are generally constructed of cob on low stone rubble footings. The house is now slated but was originally thatched. The farm buildings have corrugated iron roofs but again were almost certainly thatched prior to the 20th century.

Full description

Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.

Wallon marked, comprising the farmhouse with a closely associated range of buildings around a courtyard on its north side, a garden and farmyard with buildings around three sides on either side of a driveway to the south. To the north are further ranges of buildings and, in a wooded area, a rectangular pond and a well. Alongside the western side of the farm buildngs is a long orchard.
