Historic farmstead. Waterpower was in use here from 1888; the First Edition OS map shows an 'aqueduct' or launder taking water from the Rookery Brook to the farm. An overshot waterwheel using an elevated leat was confirmed in an sale advert dated 1895. By 1920 the waterwheel had become redundant.
