Full description

Steinmetzer, M., 2008, Archaeological Excavation at Four Ways Cross, Willand, Devon 2007 (Phase 1) Post-Excavation Assessment Report and Updated Project Design, 3 (Report - Excavation). SDV344611.

An L-shaped ditch, possibly part of a smaller segmented enclosure, was revealed during excavations on land to the north-west of Four Cross Ways. It extended for approximately 46 metres across the site, and consisted of a longer north-south aligned, slightly curved segment, 0.71 metres wide and roughly 0.43 metres deep, with a shorter return segment on an east-west alignment approximately 0.7 metres wide and roughly 0.46 metres deep.Three sherds of Middle Bronze Age pottery were recovered from the lower and upper fills.
