Evaluation undertaken prior to a planning application submission for a proposed residential development of the site.

Towards the centre of Trench 30 were two parallel north-west/south-east orientated ditches. One ditch which was identified by geophysical survey contained a single sherd of modern pottery. The other ditch was excavated to the north-east of this and was not previously identified by geophysical survey (see the fill from the other ditch contained five sherds of probable Late Iron Age pottery. The function of these features remains unclear, although they may relate to agricultural activity and /or land division

One ditch corresponds with a linear anomaly identified by the geophysical survey whilst the other was not identified until excavation was carried out.
