Linhay and stables approximately 5 metres north-west of Uplowman Court Farmhouse . Maybe 17th century origins, refurbished and partly rebuilt in the late 18th - early 19th century. Stone rubble; slate roof.
Plan: an L-plan building. The main block is on a rough east-west axis facing south onto the farmyard. It is adjoining but set slightly forward from the cider house to right (east) and contains a calf house with hayloft over to right and 5-bay linhay to left. At the left (west) end the stable block projects forward at right angles. It includes a 2-bay linhay in the return before the stables. There are haylofts above it.
Exterior: in the main block the calf house has a doorway with an unglazed 19th century 2-light window alongside to right. The open-fronted linhay is Alcocks Type T1 with full height posts and the tallet/hayloft crossbeams tusk-tenoned into them. The posts support the outer principals of late 18th - early 19th century A-frame trusses. On the return face the linhay section has been partly rebuilt with 20th century concrete block posts. The stables contain 2 doorways with hayloft loading hatch over. The roof is gable-ended.
Interior: has plain carpentry detail mostly described above. This linhay and stables form part of a good group which includes Uplowman Court Farmhouse and the Church of St Peter. Date listed 17th March 1988.
