Full description

Passmore, A. + Knight, S., 2009, Farm Environment Plan (FEP), Updated Spreadsheet of Archaeological Sites (Un-published). SDV344664.

Site (start line of Hedgehog) originally recorded on HER as part of Monument 57316 at SS4538936350 and 4543536502. At 4538336338 are two large mounds, one aligned east-west and the other north-south. Together with the base of the dunes to the east the mounds enclose an area of circa 15 metres sqyare. Although not as well defined as start line site Monument 77517, the area could easily accommodate a number of platoons and could represent a crater or 'mock' landing craft as a start line feature.
Visited 2009. Good condition. Some limited rabbit burrowing in the mounds. Other details: Site 42.
