Full description
Buck, C., 2006, Gawton Mine, Devon: Archaeological Assessment, 29 (Report - Assessment). SDV344672.
The site of the horse whim appears to be on the west side of the shaft as shown on the 1867 Bedford Consols lode/shaft map. It is now a flattish area of ground about 5 metres from the shaft and approximately 7 metrres in diameter. Other details: Figures 5-6, 35, site 13.1.
