Summary
Farmstead dates to the 16th century, based on cartographic evidence. Depicted on the Tithe Map and later historic maps as 'Forder', although the modern maps show both North and South Forder which seem to indicate a division has taken place. A number of the buildings depicted on the tithe map remain.

Full description
Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Mosaic, approximately 1838-1848 (Cartographic). SDV349431.
Forder is depicted on the Tithe Map, 80 on the Gidleigh apportionment (house, bartons etc), with another dwelling and associated structures included as part of the holding. 85 (house, court etc).

Late 19th century map shows little change from the Tithe Map depiction.
