Summary

Farmstead dates to the early-mid 19th century, based on cartographic evidence, but may be older. Depicted on the Tithe Map, one of the main buildings shown did not survive into the later 19th century, but the farmhouse has continued. Some modern additions to the east and south-east.

Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Mosaic, approximately 1838-1848 (Cartographic). SDV349431.

Tithe Map depiction of this farm shows two rectangular buildings lying parallel to one another. Chase Gate is listed on the Holne apportionment as 6.

'Chasegate' is depicted on the late 19th century historic map. The southern of the two buildings shown on the Tithe Map is gone, although some additional small buildings have been added.
