One of a number of roofed buildings shown on the 1867 Bedford Estates map close to the water wheel, the flat rod crank pit would have been on the south side of the wheel pit, powering the 'drawing engine' which connected via flat rods to wind, and possibly pump from, Bayly's, Pearce's and Fuller's shafts.
