Full description

Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Mosaic, approximately 1838-1848 (Cartographic). SDV349431.

The Holne Tithe Map shows the farm Mill Leat (plot 15), with an L-shaped building south of the lane and a C-shaped range of buildings (presumably the farmhouse with attached farm buildings) to the north of the lane which cuts through the farm.

Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.

By the time of the later 19th century historic map, the farm layout has changed, with the L-shaped building south of the lane reduced in size to a rectangular structure and new farm buildings constructed north and east of the dwelling; an L-shaped range and a roughly rectangular group of structures. It appears that the buildings shown attached to the farmhouse on the Tithe Map have been demolished prior to this time.

Dartmoor National Park Authority, 1993 - 1997, Dartmoor National Park Authority Farmstead Survey 1993-1997, 28/10/1994 (Report - Survey). SDV344544.

Farmstead included in survey. Visited on 28/10/1994. Survey suggests the farmhouse is 18th century (possibly earlier); the other farm buildings are thought to date to the 19th century.

Ordnance Survey, 2020, MasterMap 2020 (Cartographic). SDV363413.

'Mill Leat' is shown on the modern mapping; largely unchanged from the late 19th century historic map depiction.
