Full description
Buck, C., 2009, South Hooe Mine, Bere Alston, Devon: Archaeological Assessment, 50 (Report - Assessment). SDV344692.
The site as shown on a mine plan of 1856 consists of a number of long rectangular buildings which functioned to 'dress' the silver/lead ore to remove unwanted impurities by using a variety of techniques of stamping and shaking, powered by the nearby steam engine. Other details: Figure 15, site 25.
