Full description

The Stamps Engine House and adjacent boiler house is shown on the 1856 plan of the mine, but only the loadings and boiler house chimney are shown on the 1883 Ordnance Survey map. The engine seems to have had a 30 inch steam cylinder and was installed in 1842 from Danescombe Mine near Calstock, Cornwall. Four years later the site was described as having 70 heads of stamps. These can be seen either side of the loadings which were in front of the engine house. Other details: Figure 15, site 26A.
