Full description

Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Mosaic, approximately 1838-1848 (Cartographic). SDV349431.

Broadmoor is depicted on the Tithe Map; 152 on the Tavistock apportionment 'House and Yard'. Farm consists of a large roughly rectangular farmhouse in the centre of the yard, with three buildings to the east / south. Another house with garden stands in closer proximity to the north of the farm.

Few changes to the layout of the farm as depicted on the late 19th century historic map.

Early 20th century map shows the farmhouse has been reduced in size by almost half and two extra buildings have been added to the farm on the eastern side. This may be the rebuilding following the fire mentioned in the Book of Peter Tavy.
