Donn, B., 1965, A Map of the County of Devon, 1765 (Reprint), Sheet 7b (Monograph). SDV336413.

It is difficult to be precise given the scale of the map the positioning of the notation suggests that Gallows Green could have been located to the south of the church, in the vicinity of the junction with Shillingford Road.

Jones, A., 2008, Gallows in the Landscape. Execution Sites in Devon, 78 (Article in Serial). SDV344749.

Gallows Green is marked on Donn’s map of 1765 adjacent to the parish church. Jones suggests that the site was either the small triangle of grass to the north of the church or the open area around the church.
