Full description
Brown, T., 1957, Holy and Notable Wells of Devon, 210 (Article in Serial). SDV304810.
Sacred well in the crypt of the old abbey; filled in about 30 years ago when the new abbey was built. Probably dedicated to St Mary, and another may have existed outside the Abbots Tower.

The Abbey well of possibly Saxon date is in the crypt of old Buckfast Abbey and was filled in 30 years ago when the new Abbey was built. Other details: SX76NW18.
