A hexagonal pillbox of Second World War date is visible as a structure.

Site of pillbox shown on Royal Air Force aerial photograph on the east bank of Braunton Pill. There also appears to be another pillbox, 85 metres to the north.

A hexagonal pillbox of Second World War date is visible on aerial photographs of the 1940s onwards as a structure centred on circa SS48303451, constructed into the sea wall on the eastern bank of the River Taw, on the western edge of RAF Chivenor with which it was probably associated. The pillbox remains visible on images derived from aerial photographs taken in 2010 and appears in reasonable condition. It is one of two pillboxes recorded on the western edge of RAF Chivenor.
