The remains of a military gas cleansing centre which can be seen on East Budleigh Common, where during the Second World War the Royal Marines had set up Dalditch Camp as an Infantry Training Centre. It is now the protected home of bats. The victims of a gas attack would have entered the building, stripped and showered. They would then have moved to a second chamber, separated by air locked corridors, where clean clothes would have been issued. Other details: Photograph.
