Exeter Balloon Barrage "B" Flight was headquartered in the gardner's cottage attached to The Lodge.

1 St. Michael's Close (The Lodge).
Late 18th-/early 19th century. Stucco. Two storeys, three windows, sashes. Ground floor windows are tripartite sashes with glazing bars. Ionic porch, door with arched fanlight, steps up. Wood modillion eaves cornice, slate roof.
