Full description
Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.
Two small buildings shown adjacent to road to north and north-west of Stevens's Shaft.
Buck, C., 2010, Stephens Shaft, Morwell, Devon: Archaeological Assessment, 36 (Report - Assessment). SDV345554.
Two small regular (roofed) buildings are shown on the 1884 Ordnance Survey map and partly on the 1891 lease plan. They appear to have been built to serve the operation and maintenance of Stephen's Shaft. Their specific funtions are unknown. They may well have survived into the site's re-use of the 1890s. Other details: Figures 7, 17: site 7.
