Full description
Buck, C., 2010, George & Charlotte Mine, Morwell, Devon: Archaeological Assessment, 28 (Report - Assessment). SDV345606.
A secondary leat (fed via a vertical rock cut) is shown on the late 19th and early 20th century Ordnance Survey maps, parallel to the earlier leat, but higher up the valley side, and may have joined the main leat where it turned downwards.The reason for this additional leat is unclear, but perhaps it provided a faster or additional head of water for the mine's main water wheel.
