Full description

Building shown on 19th century estate maps, and late 19th and early 20th century Ordnance Survey maps. Its function is not known, as there are no buildings labelled on the mine plans. It is in an area that has been excavated from the hillside to form a flattish site, with a vertical masonry wall constructed on the north-east side. The building is small, measuring internally 2.2 metres by 3 metres, and a maximum of 1.7 metres high. There is a possible doorway in the east side, and the remnants of a window sill in the south-west wall. The north-west wall has remnants of the gable wall, with the other walls approximately 1.5 metres high. Other details: Figures 7-10, 18: site 7.
