This building, shown on 19th century estate maps, and late 19th and early 20th century Ordnance Survey maps, may have been the mine's carpenter's shop. The building has a distinctive shape, and may have been divided into two. Alternatively, it may have functioned as a dressing floor building. The site is set in an area that has been excavated from the hillside, with a vertical masonry wall approximately 6 metres high on the north-east side. There are remnants of all four walls, but the building is densely overgrown and the walls are obscured by ivy. The east and west walls are approximately 1.5 metres high, and the north wall 2 metres high. Internally it is approximately 4.7 metres from east to west and 3.8 metres from north to south.
