The mine waste dumps are shown on the 19th century estate maps and early Ordnance Survey maps in two main areas. Downslope of Middle Adit for the material brought out of the upper working, and west of the lower dressing floor. Material would have been brought up Whim Shaft, then separated and processed on the dressing floor. The larger sized waste material would have been taken by tramrail further along the side of the valley. Other details: Figures 7-10, 18: site 17.2.
