The shaft is not shown on any map or plan, but is shown in section, sunk to a depth of approximately 15 metres to meet Shallow Adit Level. It would have been cut mainly to provide air, ventilation and access to Shallow Adit. It is located on the east side of an overgrown forestry track, and on the same alignment as the openwork. It measures 1 by 1.8 metres, and is open to a depth of approximately 3.5 metres below track level. The bedrock is visible to surface level, and it has an insufficient metal pole and rope barrier.
