(16/04/1979) On a south-west-facing slope within a modern enclosure, centred at SX 59386215, are five hut circles and three short lengths of prehistoric walling possibly the remains of enclosures. The average diameter of the huts is 5.3m. and the average wall thickness is 1.2m. They are mostly in poor condition; three of them are probably Type 2 huts (Type site: SX 56 NE 71); the other two cannot be determined. Three of the huts have recognisable entrances, on the south or south-west. No clearance has been carried out in the vicinity.
Surveyed at 1:10 000 on P.F.D.

A settlement of probable Bronze Age to Iron Age date is visible on aerial photographs of 1965 extending across circa 600m of the south-west facing slopes east of Cholwich Town, Cornwood.
The north-western end comprises 5 identifiable earthwork and stone-built hut circles, circa 5 to 6m in diameter, and several banks defining probable field boundaries and incomplete enclosures.
Three of the hut circles are set within a slight hollow circa 55m across centred on SX59376215, cut into the south-west facing slope. The north-east edge of the hollow is slightly scalloped in plan, possibly indicative of further hut circle locations.
The curvilinear boundaries remain clearly identifiable as banks and ditches on visualisations derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017 and very dispersed and damaged stone-built features on digital images derived from aerial photographs of 2007.
The settlement continues to the south-east as MDV79189.
