A large mound marks the site of the deserted farmstead of Upcott. It is visible as low earthworks on aerial photographs (p1) and was digitally plotted during the National Mapping Programme. Five other mounds of uncertain origin lie within 200m of the main settlement, which is marked on the OS 1st Edition 1:2500 scale map, and may be associated with it.
