A possible ditched oval enclosure of later prehistoric or Roman is visible on aerial photographs as a cropmark on the floodplain of the Exe Valley, north of Netherexe Barton. The visible cropmark is between 1 and 1.5 metres wide, enclosing a space approximately 18 by 12 metres in size. The cropmark narrows to the south-east and is partially obscured in this quadrant by cropmarks of probable natural or geological origin. The enclosure might be associated with the extensive enclosure cropmark complex to the north and east.
