A mound is visible on aerial photographs of 1946 as an oval subtle earthwork approximately 10m by 8m in size, on the south facing slopes of Ideford Common, Ideford. The mound may be the remains of a barrow of Bronze Age date, part of a wider barrow cemetery recorded across Ideford Common (MDV79238).
The mound remains visible as a gorse covered earthwork on digital images derived from aerial photographs of 2015. Differential growth in the gorse may be evidence of an outer ditch.
