Photograph shows the Colyton Institute, built of red brick in 1904, a key building which makes a significant contribution to the townscape. Other details: Maps, photograph.

The construction of memorial clubs in the 1920s in Colyton and Sidmouth in East Devon can in particular be seen to have been directly the result of the larger, organised and vocal veteran groups.
