The earliest detailed studied map of the development site is the Tithe Map of 1843 (Figure 4). This map shows The L-shaped Silk Mill with a range of 5 buildings to the north surrounding a yard. These buildings are marked as plot 514 on the map and are described as a House, Silk Factory, Garden and Offices.
