Child, P., 1998, Staddon Farmhouse, North Tawton (Correspondence). SDV346847.

Visited 23rd April 1998. The building on the north side of the yard is an unusual conversion from an original open-fronted linhay of probably 18th century date into an enclosed cow house, with the conversion work perhaps of 19th century date. In order to achieve this they have under-built the original open front in cob and stone. The thatched roof has been convered in with a sheeting roof on a separate rafter system.

Northern barn, set higher than the main yard, with its own cobbled forecourt. There is much thatch under the 19th century tin roof. The tin roof is obviously not a 20th century stop-gap maintenance measure, since this would not involve using clay ridge tiles and a new roof support system built around, supplementing and appearing to mimic the old roof framework.
