Full description

Chapel Street contains a very impressive range of cottages forming an almost continuous frontage and of important group value. These were mainly added to the statutory list in 1972 and constitute an important feature on entering the village. Other details: Maps, photograph.

Eighteenth century row of two storey cob cottages with irregular corner block, its front on slightly convex plan, south west corner rounded. All under common thatched roof, eaves line swept up to higher level. Wood casements, some with leaded lights, Stone and brick external chimney in angle at north west corner of No 68. Carriage arch through to rear of No 70 has "Sun" fire insurance plaque.
Nos 68 to70, Woodvale Cottage, and Nos 71 to 81 form a group.
