Context One Archaeological Services, 2010, Land off Shortlands Lane, Cullompton, Devon: An Archaeological Field Evaluation, 5; figure 1 (Report - Evaluation). SDV347131.

An archaeological evaluation was undertaken on land off Shortlands Lane, prior to the submission of a planning application for the construction of three detached houses. The evalution revealed a uniform deposit of modern topsoil directly overlying natural river terrace gravels in Trenches 1-4, and a large post-medieval or modern gravel quarry pit in the eastern end of Trench 5 and all of Trench 6. The fill of the pit included post-medieval/modern brick, glass, slate and tile fragments.
