A tinwork is documented at Crowndelham in 1539. A surviving openwork at Crowndale could represent field remains. An elongated oval quarry pit of probable post-medieval date was recorded from aerial photographs as an earthwork at Crowndale as part of the NMP survey of the Tamar Valley AONB.

Cornwall Archaeological Unit, 2001-2002, Tamar Valley National Mapping Programme Transcriptions and Database Records, RAF/CPE/UK/2149/F20/3147-8 (Interpretation). SDV346287.

The transcription of an oval earthwork pit circa 23 metres wide and up to 80 metres long from aerial photographs RAF/CPE/UK/2149/F20/3147-8 corresponds to a database record of a quarry of post-medieval date at Crowndale. Map object based partly on this source.
