Full description
Context One Archaeological Services, 2010, Land Adjacent to South Molton Hospital, Widgery Drive, South Molton, North Devon, 10, 16-17 (Report - Evaluation). SDV347309.
A small shallow linear feature, 0.45 metres wide and 0.12 metres deep, was recorded Trench 4 located at the southern end of the evaluation area. The ditch does not correspond with any field boundaries shown on historical mapping and given the compacted nature of the fill it is suggested that it may be the remains of an earlier, possibly medieval field boundary. However, no finds were recovered from the feature.
