Summary
Site of a medieval farmstead known as Blackadon Farm, which pre-dates the existing farmstead 140 meters to the north-west and the hospital, which was constructed over the farmstead site in the late 19th century. The medieval farm was apparently first recorded in 1311 and was also known as 'Blacket' and 'Blackaton'.

Full description

Site of Blackadon farm depicted on the Ordnance Survey map. Farmstead consists of a number of rectangular buildings surrounding a yard area.

By the early 20th century, the farmstead buildings are gone, having been replaced by the hospital.

Probably nothing left of old buildings, although first mentioned in 1311 and formerly known as 'Blacket' and 'Blackaton' (approximately 1845). Register of land of that year shows a medium size estate with 'house, yard & offices'.
