Studhayes is referred to as Stedeheis in 1246.

Annotated plan of the farmstead shows a 19th century stone-walled barn opposide the farmhouse and a 19th century waggon shed adjacent to the farmhouse on the south. Both have corrugated iron roofs (B.A.R. 2.2.4).
