Full description

Mason, C., 2010, Archaeological Monitoring of Groundworks of Hydro-Electric Generator at Tipton Mills (Report - Watching Brief). SDV347408.

The sluice gate is a wooden and iron structure framed by three rigid steel girders. The gate was fitted with a cast iron rack and pinion lifting mechanism. According to the report, the sluice gate will be demolished in advance of construction of an Archimedes Screw type hydro-electric generator. Map object based on this Source.
