The buildings recorded during the survey were two of the earliest within the farm complex. Although no evidence survived to establish exact dates, both were present by circa 1841, and may date from the late 18th to early 19th centuries. The open fronted linhay or cattle shed was a later addition which remained open until the 20th century when the north front was infilled with concrete block. The original roof structure survived, but with a modern roof covering added in the 20th century. The building was single storey, and roughly rectangular, measuring 15.6 by 5.8 metres. It had been constructed on an east-west alignment against the adjacent barn, and divided internally into six bays. It was constructed of roughly coursed shale and sandstone blocks, with the upper part of the west elevation of cob. Very few original fittings survived. Other details: Figures 2-4; plates 1, 3-4.
