Post office marked at this location on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map.

Building appears to be visible on the 1947 aerial photography of New Street, although is not very clear.

Mid 20th century red brick single storey building on the north side of New Street, opposite the White Hart Hotel. Elaborate symmetrical façade with two large sash windows flanking a central stone-clad timber doorway, topped with a stone pediment. Two stone decorated feature panels above the windows, featuring lions head design. Stone pillared roof edging above. Other details: Staff Training Day worksheet.
