Full description
Thorp, J. + Cox, J., 1994, Batworthy Farm, Chagford, 55 (Report - Survey). SDV347507.
A granite butter well is built over a spring in the western boundary bank of the main yard at Batworthy Farm, facing onto the track beyond the stream which flows past the front of it, in a naturally sheltered position.
It consists of a granite box, the front doorway measures 0.83 metres wide by 1.4 meters high. The chamber is 1.47 meters deep and widens to 0.96 meters from the doorway.
