Former field boundary depicted on 1847 Highweek parish Tithe Map, surviving until the early 20th century, enclosing an orchard on the north side of Houghton Barton farmstead and garden. Field boundaries within this site potentially date from the medieval period, in line with the development of the landscape in this area. Buried remains such as ditches and former land surfaces could survive below ground for those boundaries removed. Other details: Appendix 1, A22; Figures 2, 4-6, 8.
