Summary

Leat running from SX65459126 – SX65349242 where it no longer exists on the modern mapping. From SX65349242 - SX65019293, the (now presumably dry) leat can be traced on the late 19th century maps to where it supplied the Ramsley Copper Mine (previously known as Emily Mine). Surveyed and recorded in the Dartmoor Trust Leats Project. Also called the Zeal Mill Leat.

Full description

Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.

Leat depicted on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map (approximately 1880s in date) but not named. Course of the leat shown running all the way to Copper Mine, then known as 'Emily Mine'. Map object based on this Source.

Ramsley Mine Leat surveyed and recorded flowing between SX654912 - ? (Blackaton Brook – Tributary of Taw). Take-off at Shilley Pool. Small leat flowing through fields in multiple ownerships.
