Two intercutting pits, exposed during topsoil stripping in advance of quarrying of phases 5 and 6 at Town Farm, towards the north-west extent of the site. The earlier of the two was approximately circular in plan and measured 0.96 metres across, and was 0.2 metres deep. A total of 16 Bronze Age sherds were recovered from the fills. The later pit was positioned to the east of the earlier, and measured 0.86 metres across, and was 0.28 metres deep. A total of 9 Bronze Age sherds were recovered from the fills, and radiocarbon dates obtained from samples of charcoal provided an Early Bronze Age date. This indicates that they were broadly contemporary with or slightly preceding the burnt mound site to the south, excavated in 2003. Map object based on this Source.

Excavations at Town Farm Quarry revealed two intercutting pits (120 and 123) Early Bronze Age pits representing an eastwards extension of the Bronze Age activity and the burnt mounds found in 2005. The earlier pit (123) was broadly circular, 960 millimetres across and 200 millimetres deep. Its fill contained 15 sherds of Bronze Age pottery. Pit 120 was of similar size and shape and contained 9 sherds of Bronze Age pottery. Carbonised hazelnut shells from the pits returned calibrated radiocarbon dates of between 1890BC and 1620BC.
