Full description

Jenkinson, T., 2005 - 2011, B3416/B3212/B3344/Old A38 Exeter to Plymouth (Report - Survey). SDV322256.

Site visit 18th April 2006. Boundary stone located to the south of Alphington on the west side of the old A38 at a minor corssroads, against the wall at the end of a path. The legend reads 'Exmins/-ter/P/' on the left hand face and 'Alphing/-ton/P/' on the right hand face. The stone, dated circa 1822, is worn with a chunk out of the left edge. Paint residues indicate that the stone had black lettering on a white background with a black base.
